Do you remember this? It's one of the models of a BEEPER that I used to own in the late 80's. This small device which was either hooked to my belt, my pocket or my bag was considered a very important gadget in my life. I remember the many times when I would go crazy looking for a telephone when I get messages that says...please call home or the office ASAP or URGENT. For many years it made my life very easy but when the cell phones came into being in the early 90's, this handy device slowly faded away.

Oh, yes, that one!!! Feels like ages ago... And the cellphone totally outconcerred them yes. But they where very useful back then. At least you had a chance of reaching the person.

Yes really. Thinking of all sorts of communications in the past, you can clearly see how technology in communication really has advanced.
    Mine is up too.

Technology sure has come leaps and bounds!

We're fortunate in our lifetimes we've seen SO MUCH TECHNOLOGY come and go. The best thing "since wheels" is now a throw away...

Don't forget... I want you to e-mail me with a mailing address so I may send your new grandchild a gift :)

    Viamarie:

You have offered so many words of inspiration. Somehow I know you are a blessed woman, and a woman of extreme prayer.

DON'T ASK ME WHY... (Lord works in mysterious ways... I'm not even that extremely religious most days)

I must have 50 blogs bookmarked, but for some reason when I read a particular one as I was trying to comment on various readers that read mine (this one I've maybe read twice), and yet yours regularly... I thought of you.

Please go and read this article...

    HERE

For some reason, I feel you need to pray for this young man... and I DON'T KNOW WHY... AND EVEN FEEL A BIT SILLY FOR ASKING...

I don't know these people, but I know you bring inspiration to many ALL THE WAY FROM THE PHILLIPINES...

    Call it karma, or whatever.

And if your readers decide to click on that HERE... they can pray too :)

I remember that a lot of veterinarians used these (at the university) and would ask to use my phone when beeped. I'd forgotten all about them.

Thanks for visiting my MM on scratch cooking.

Yes, I remember the beeper well. Especially if I was on call over the weekend. Thanks for the memory.

Ahh, yes. I emember those beepers well. I got my kids these when they were in school, and they used it to pager code their friends. all of their friends had them and they used to pager code me too. :)

    How are you doing today?

Guess what? We still use beepers/pagers like that at my work. They are given to people who are on call for support because they are cheaper than cell phones. People who are on call regularly, like managers are given cells, but other who rotate have the pagers.

I played Monday Memories for the first time today.

    Thinking of you :)

I never had a beeper ... thank goodness !!! I love my mobile phone, though, and wouldn't be without it.
Ah, technology ... it is wonderful.
    Have a great week.
    Take care, Meow

I have a cell phone but they are truly the most obnoxious device that's helped our lives (really?) over the last 20-30 years.

I remember those! In fact I've seen the new slicker ones.. I'm not much for cell phones anymore. I had a few years of them, and decided I like being alone lol.
